Virtual Program: Roses are Red, Yellow or Pink

Roses can be a stunning element in the ornamental landscape, but their care needs make them intimidating even for experienced gardeners. Please join us at 3 p.m. Monday, May 18, when members of the Piedmont Master Gardeners will provide tips on growing roses in Central Virginia in an online program offered by The Center at Belvedere.

Titled “Roses are Red, Yellow or Pink,” the program is free and open to the public and may be accessed via Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89390759456 or by telephone at 646-558-8656. The meeting ID is 893 9075 9456.

The presenters—Christine Appert, Deede Cady, and Fern Campbell of the Piedmont Master Gardeners’ Rose Garden team—will cover the many different types of roses and how to select the best roses for our area. They will also offer advice on how to plant roses and how to keep them healthy by managing pests and diseases.

Over the years, PMG’s Rose Garden team has nurtured the rose garden at The Center’s previous location on Hillsdale Drive.
